I'm missing Turtle Creek like crazy right now. The sudden rain lilies. The smells. The sky over the garden.
Reading: A Gate at the Stairs by Lorrie Moore. Thanks miss Keho, finally getting around to it. When I first opened this book many months ago I closed it immediately, didn't think too hard about why. This time I'm intrigued, we'll see.
Listening: Can't get enough Andrew Bird these days.
Looking: at the buds on the wysteria, waiting.
Sewing: Did a color project from Jean Wells' Journey to Inpsired Art Quilting for a SAMQG bee. This exercise turned out to be challenging. I'm pretty stubborn about not restricting my color palette at the beginning of a quilt. I like to let color trends present themselves organically (weirdo!). The structure was out of my comfort zone. The piecing was fun. Also finishing the Boyfriend Quilt made entirely of Ramon's goodwill pile of button-down shirts. This was supposed to be a Valentine's gift. I'm trying to get it done and get the shop all cleaned up and organized for spring weddings. Been working with the french doors open a lot lately. Sometimes birds come inside the studio and hop around a bit, cock their heads at me. This makes me tremendously happy.
This post was going to be about my relationship with the quilt sandwich, but I changed my mind. However, if you have any good tips on the subject I'm all ears.
